CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE - ROWING PRODUCTS

Nielsen-Kellerman is seeking applicants for the position of Customer Service Representative to join our team. Nielsen-Kellerman is an established company with a 30-year history of designing, developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics for monitoring sports performance and environmental conditions. NK electronics for rowing are used by virtually every school and club program throughout the world, from novices to Olympic medal winners. Kestrel Pocket Wind and Weather Meters are used by firefighters, military personnel, farmers, hikers, meteorologists, sports teams, and hundreds of other people who need to know the conditions where they work or play. NK Soaring Instruments are taking off in the domestic and international gliding market. The focus of this position will be service to NK’s rowing and sports performance customers but some cross-support of the weather instrument and soaring areas will also be involved. This position requires an individual who takes personal satisfaction in providing excellent customer service and has a pleasant phone manner and a good memory for product detail. Computer skills, including proficient data entry abilities, are also required. This position will report to the Customer Service Manager.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Providing sales support, product selection guidance and basic technical advice relating to the NK product line, including features, applications, configurations and customer suitability.
  • Taking customer and dealer product orders via phone, email, internet and fax.
  • Entering and processing orders using MAS200 integrated business software.
  • Downloading orders from web store and entering data in web EDI systems.
  • Assisting customers with product warranty claims, returns and repair processing.
  • Researching and updating customers on status of orders.

To be considered, candidates should possess:

  • Strong communication, phone and people skills, with the patience to handle difficult questions and the confidence to help customers make product choices.
  • Proficient data entry skills. Ability to enter orders accurately, pay careful attention to detail and follow order processing procedures. MAS90, MAS200 or other order entry and processing software experience a plus.
  • Good organizational skills with an ability to self-direct and to remain composed when things get busy.
  • HS degree required. AA or BA degree desired, but equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 2+ years experience in a customer service role.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and an ability to navigate and search the internet.
  • Reliability and a stable lifestyle that supports excellent attendance.
  • Personal involvement in active outdoor pursuits a plus.

This position is 40 hours per week with a set schedule to be built around office hours of Monday to Thursday 9 to 5 and Friday 9 to 4. Starting rate is $12.50 to $14.00 per hour depending on experience.
