ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN - MANUFACTURING

Nielsen-Kellerman is seeking applicants for the position of Electronics Technician to join our Manufacturing Engineering team. This position requires an experienced, knowledgeable, self-directed, team-oriented, communicative and energetic individual with above-average electronics technician skills. You will be a pivotal resource in addressing the daily challenges of a fast-paced, high-quality consumer electronics manufacturing operation. This position will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Specific responsibilities will include:

• Troubleshoot/Repair PCB assemblies to component level
• Maintain Excel database for PCB defects
• Support SMT department and maintain equipment:
  • Quad IVc and QSX-1 pick and place
  • DEK 248 paste printer
  • Heller reflow oven
• Assist with root cause analysis of finished product rejects
• Support manufacturing and design engineers with construction and set-up of test equipment, performance of tests, and summary of test results
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing kaizen events and process improvement teams
• Recommend and implement process improvements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates degree, technical school certificate or military training
• 3+ years proven electronics technician experience
• Mastery of ocilliscopes and knowledge of correct use of standard laboratory test equipment
• In-depth knowledge of surface mount technology and solder paste application
• Excellent soldering skills
• Ability to reading component data sheets
• Mechanical aptitude and interest
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
• Solid written and oral communication skills

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience with design and assembly of electronics products
• Ability to work with machine tools including CNC machines

This position is full-time with a starting salary between $19.00 and $24.00 per hour dependEnt on experience and qualifications. This position is first shift (Mon. to Thurs. 7 to 3:45, Fri. 7 to 1), with occasional overtime required.
